About the Leader
Hasib Hikmat, born and raised in the east end of London, lives with his family in a two bedroom flat in Stepney Green that he rents from a housing association.
Hasib, obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1995 from Queen Mary, University of London. He has spent his most formative years in Tower Hamlets, sacrificing a promising career in engineering to empower youngsters in this deprived community to reach and surpass his own success.
Hasib is a successful qualified teacher and has over 11 years experience of teaching and management in three local schools, Swanlea, Mulberry and Bow. He is currently the Head Teacher of a local independent Primary school.
Hasib is making another sacrifice and wants your support to change the face of politics, creating a dialogue with the whole community and giving them true leaders who can be trusted.
Hasib’s contribution to education in Tower Hamlets was recognised by the Centre of the Cell (part of QMUL) when he was asked to become a Trustee to help in the development of a major project to enhance children’s experience in learning science. The centre of the cell is now a huge success and is inspiring even more children into careers once out of reach.
Hasib has now been appointed as one of the directors of the Centre of the Cell and continues to contribute to this project that is based in the heart of our community and is now internationally recognised for its impact on children.
